Esteemed Portsmouth photographer, Michael Winters, took a bad photo over the weekend sources report. The photo, posted unironically to social media, left the Portsmouth arts community reeling.

“I clicked the ‘wow’ reaction because I didn’t know what else to do” said local gossip writer, Jeanne McCartin, “but really, it’s just shit. I can’t believe this is happening”

Most of Winters’ photos receive an average of 53 likes on Facebook, however this one sits with 2 ‘wows’ and 7 ‘likes’, a recent low for the photographer.

The embarrassing photo, which depicts a laughing child tossing her hair imposed over a photo of a pink nebula, appears over-exposed and oddly blurry. Astronomers could not identify the nebula by deadline, but agreed the photo was really, really bad.

“Honestly I’d rather look at the blackness of space,” one said. “The composition is better.”

Winters’ book Michael Winters: Friends and Muses has dropped 25% in price on Amazon. An Amazon Executive who declined to be named for fear of reprisals from Portsmouth’s militant arts community said, “The demand is just gone.  All the photos in the book are good but after this the whole thing just seems depreciated.”

Sajin Ka, one of Winters’ “muses”, expressed support for the beleaguered photog.

“Michael Winters has always made me look rad as fuck, and I love him for it. He’s always gotten it right with me,” she said.

“I’m just glad I’m not that girl.”
